The first seven chapters had brilliant writing, but were a struggle to listen to. That is why I always pre-order my favorite authors on Audible. I downloaded the print version on my Kindle, but it'll be weeks before I have the time to sit and read it. I was unable to finish the audiobook due to poor narration. What was one of the most memorable moments of Shield of Winter? No, she did a beautiful job in all but this one. Then Todd stepped in, explaining that he didn’t want people to misunderstand and think that the other stories were from an entirely different child–but that as Colton grew, his vocabulary increased and he remembered and recounted still other stories, many of them.
